Tell the UK Government: No more broken promises. Stop neglecting the public’s access to nature.

Across England, access to nature is deeply unequal. Despite knowing the significant benefits of walking, the UK Government is not taking action.

Did you know that:

  • Less well-off neighbourhoods in England have worse access to green space than those in wealthier neighbourhoods?
  • Tens of thousands of hectares of woodland are off limits to the public?
  • The UK is one of the least “nature connected” countries in the world?

And yet, a quarter of the way through its term, the Labour government has made no meaningful progress on its pre-election promise to improve access to nature in England.

  • A promised Green Paper has not yet materialised
  • A planned path audit was shelved
  • Ministers are not meeting with access organisations

Right now, there is a risk this will be the first Labour government since the 1940s not to improve access.

JOIN US in telling the UK Government to act. Enough broken promises. Everyone deserves to walk in nature.
