Did you know: Half of all paths in Wales are blocked, not signposted, or both, leaving too many people with nowhere to walk close to home?
Why does this matter?
Local paths are lifelines, connecting people to green space, fresh air and better mental and physical health. But a lack of investment and action has allowed them to deteriorate.
Today, local authorities are spending less on maintaining and improving paths than they did in 2014.
We need to put paths back on the agenda to make sure everyone can enjoy the significant health benefits of being outdoors and walking in nature.
With the Welsh election approaching, now is the time to make your voice heard.
Write to your candidates to ask them to commit to a £24 million Access Improvement Grant and tell them:
Access to nature isn’t a luxury. It’s a right.
